Buongiorno a suon di doodle per Google, che oggi ha celebrati la storia del pittore olandese Johannes Vermeer. Un vero e proprio commerciante d'arte, che non ha ricalcato il solco, ad esempio, lasciato dal connazionale Vincent Van Gogh, ma quello del padre (commerciante d'arte, appunto). Un omaggio in occasione dell'apertura della ventiseiesima mostra a lui dedicata (si trova nella National Gallery di Washington e contiene 21 delle 35 opere esistenti).

Chi è Johannes Vermeer

Vermeer morì molto giovane, nel 1675 (all’età di 43 anni) e questo lo portò a realizzare un numero contenuto di opere (45). Per visitare tutte le sue opere bisogna andare in Olanda, al Vermeer Centre Delft, una vera e propria casa artistica del pittore, dove sono presenti tutte le riproduzioni in alta qualità dei suoi quadri principali.
