Gli archeologi israeliani hanno annunciato la scoperta di decine di nuovi frammenti dei cosiddetti rotoli del Mar Morto, manoscritti che riportano testi tratti della Bibbia. I frammenti, di pergamena, sono stati trovati in una grotta nel deserto e si ritiene siano stati nascosti durante una rivolta ebraica contro Roma circa 1.900 anni fa. Con il metodo del radiocarbonio sono stati datati al II secolo. Secondo quanto riferisce l’Autorità israeliana per le antichità, contengono testi in greco tratti dai libri di Zaccaria e Naum. Si tratta del primo ritrovamento di nuovi rotoli da 60 anni a questa parte. Il ritrovamento è avvenuto in scavi archeologici in un canyon isolato nel deserto a sud di Gerusalemme.
