(ANSA) - Rome, August 17 - The economic crisis will slash an
estimated 22,420 jobs that would have gone to immigrants by
year's end, according to a report from the Italian labor
ministry Friday.
The 27% drop concerns full-time manual labor.
The report, which was co-sponsored by the national union of
chambers of commerce Unioncamere, said that small businesses
accounted for 88.5% of the cuts.
Nearly 70% of the lost jobs are predicted to be in the
north.
