Rome Villa Borghese on world's 10 most fascinating list

(ANSA) - Rome, August 21 - Rome's Villa Borghese is one of
the 10 most fascinating parks in the world, according to a
survey carried out by the German magazine "Focus".
Others include London's renowned Hyde Park, Central Park in
New York, the Prate in Vienna, the Guell of Barcellona and the
Luxemberg Gardens of Paris.
Villa Borghese hosts "five square kilometers of
spectacularly attractive grounds, including fantastic
sculptures, waterfalls and fountains," said Focus journalist
Isabelle Bloedorn in the article.
"And for those who have not had enough of the infinite
cultural richness that Rome offers, it's really worth visiting
the Villa Borghese museum and gallery to admire unique artistic
treasures including those of great masters like Leonardo da
Vinci, Raffaello and Rubens."
"It is a shame that Napoleon in 1807 took many other
masterpieces that were originally in the gallery away with him
to the Louvre," she added.
Monaco's English Garden, the Golden Gate Park in San
Francisco and Vancouver's Stanley Park are other parks that made
the global hit list.
