Pope urges faithful to 'listen to God', not chatter

(ANSA) - Vatican City, September 5 - In a noisy world, it
can be difficult to hear God's voice, but the faithful must try,
Pope Benedict XVI urged Wednesday morning.
In his regular weekly audience, the Pope said prayer should
be a two-way communication.
"Our prayers must first be listening to God....who calls
us," the Pope told about 7,000 people gathered in the Vatican's
Paolo VI Hall.
But that's difficult in today's world, where "we are
inundated with so many words, we are not inclined to listen to
what God wants to tell us".
Pope Benedict also discussed the Book of Revelations and
the Apocalypse of St. John, instructing followers to accept
Christ more deeply into their lives.
"The more and better we pray, with constancy and intensity,
the more we liken ourselves to Jesus".
