Around 900 minors still in quake shelters in Emilia-Romagna

(ANSA) - Modena, September 11 - Four months following the
two powerful earthquakes that struck the regions of
Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Veneto, approximately 900 children
are still being housed in temporary shelters, according to a
report released Tuesday by Save the Children Italy.
Authorities say that 3,471 people have not been able to
return to their homes and are placed in 22 camps concentrated in
the region of Emilia-Romagna near the city of Modena.
Of the minors being sheltered, 37% are between seven to 13
years old.
The June earthquakes killed 24 people, left thousands
homeless and brought the region's economy to its knees, with the
damage estimated to amount to around five billion euros.
