Soccer: Juventus coach Conte to appeal ban next week

(ANSA) - Rome, September 11 - Disgraced Juventus coach
Antonio Conte will appeal next week his ban imposed by Italy's
football federation.
Conte is challenging his 10-month ban from soccer by the
Italian Football Federation (FIGC) imposed for his involvement
in a match-fixing scheme.
The federation found Conte guilty of failing to report two
incidents of match-fixing during his time in charge of Siena's
second-tier club during the 2010-11 season.
He was found guilty of only one count on appeal but the ban
was not changed.
Conte's appeal will be heard Sept. 21 by Italy's highest
sports tribunal, the Italian Olympic Committee's Court of
Arbitration for Sport (TNAS).
The arbitration panel will include Massimo Zacchaeus, Guido
Calvi and Enrico De Giovanni.
Because of Conte's previous post at Siena, Turin's Juventus
club has become the biggest club touched by Italy's latest
match-fixing scandal.
