Swimming: Pellegrini set to reunite with Lucas

(ANSA) - Rome, September 13 - Federica Pellegrini is set to
link up with her former coach Phillippe Lucas as she bids to
regain her golden touch.
The 24-year-old was one of Italy's big gold medal hopes for
the London Olympics but she could do no better than fifth in the
200m and 400m freestyle.
It was a massive disappointment for an athlete who is the
double world champion and world record holder in both events and
went to the Games as the reigning Olympic champion in the 200m.
Frenchman Lucas, the former coach of Pellegrini's ex-rival
Laure Manaudou, prepared her before last year's world
championships in Shanghai, where she retained both the titles
she won in Rome in 2009 with world record times.
But they separated after Shanghai as Pellegrini no longer
wanted to live in Paris to work with Lucas and the coach refused
to move to the swimmer's base in Verona.
This time, however, Lucas has reportedly agreed to live in
Italy after talks with the swimmer on Wednesday.
It will be the swimmer's fourth change of coach since her
longstanding mentor Alberto Castagnetti died in 2009.
Pellegrini has said she wants to take a sort of sabbatical
over the next 12 months, limiting the amount of competition she
does and the intensity of her training.
