'Eurogroup won't ask Spain for more measures' says Guindos

(ANSA) - Nicosia, September 14 - Spain on Friday said the
Eurogroup of finance ministers would not ask it for additional
economic measures if the country requests financial assistance.
The Eurogroup on Friday is set to discuss whether the
heavily indebted country should ask for aid after the European
Central Bank unveiled its unlimited bond-buying program last
week, sharply easing pressure on Spain's borrowing costs.
Spanish Finance Minister Luis De Guindos said that "the
basic question" for Spain is whether it will meet commitments on
public finances and reforms, while Friday's meeting was meant to
address "in a broad manner" the details of the ECB's commitment.
Both Spain and Italy saw their borrowing costs sink even
further following Germany's decision Wednesday to approve the
new European bailout fund, the ESM.
