Soccer: Allegri has 'no problem' with Inzaghi

(ANSA) - Milan, September 21 - AC Milan coach Massimiliano
Allegri on Friday said that the reported bust-up he had this
week with former striker Pippo Inzaghi was nothing more than an
exchange of opinion.
The reports of a row between the two were seen as a sign of
the rising tension at Milan, with Allegri looking in danger of
losing his job after his side's poor start to the season.
The headline of Friday's edition of sports daily La
Gazzetta dello Sport read Allegri v Inzaghi, Head-on Clash.
Inzaghi, who retired as a player at the end of last season
and was put in charge of one of Milan's youth teams, is
favourite to take over as first-team coach if Allegri is fired.
"There's nothing to report as nothing happened," Allegri
told Milan's in-house TV channel in a joint interview with
"This year Pippo (Inzaghi) moved on to coach the youth team
and there's total collaboration between the first team and the
youth sector.
"There was an exchange of opinions but no swearing and
nothing offensive, on the contrary to what was reported...
"Pippo and I are on the same side and nothing has
Press reports said Inzaghi and Allegri have never gotten on
particularly well because the coach used the former Italy
forward rarely in the last two seasons of his career.
But Inzaghi insisted he and Allegri were rowing in the same
direction on Friday.
"It lasted less than a minute and the young players saw
nothing as there wasn't anything to see," he said when asked
about the reports of a row during a visit by Allegri to Milan's
academy facility.
"I read reports of family members being present, pushing
and shoving. We are Milan and we all want the best for this
club. Nothing like this could ever happen...
"There's never been any problem between me and the coach
and I want to make that clear".
