130 trains delayed in Italy after attempted wire theft


(ANSA) – Turin, September 28 – An attempted copper-cable
robbery in the town of Moncalieri in northern Italy delayed
railway traffic at the Turin junction for almost 17 hours on
Thursday and Friday.
Trains were delayed from 20:45 on Thursday to 13.30 on
There were 130 trains involved in the disruption, which led
to 18 cancellations.
Italy’s Ferrovie dello Stato state railroad said more than
80 cables were damaged.
