F1: Alonso says Ferrari just need more of the same

(ANSA) - Rome, October 11 - Fernando Alonso said on Thursday
that Ferrari just need to give more of the same, even though his
championship lead has been whittled down to just four points.
The Spaniard was forced out on the first lap of last
weekend's Japanese Grand Prix by a shunt from Kimi Raikkonen's
Lotus, which enabled the race winner, Red Bull's world
champion Sebastian Vettel, to virtually close the gap.
Alonso, who won the 2005 and 2006 world titles with
Renault, also had to retire through no fault of his own at the
Belgian Grand Prix last month because of a huge crash caused by
Lotus's Romain Grosjean.
"I think we have been pushing from the first test in the
winter, so nothing has changed in the last five races," Alonso
told a press conference ahead of Sunday's South Korean Grand
"We just need to keep doing the things we've been doing so
far. I think it has nearly been a perfect championship for us at
the moment, with good strategies, good starts, good approach to
the races.
"Everything we had in our hands on Sunday we maximised the
points. We had one zero in Spa (Belgium) and one zero in Suzuka
(Japan) but things completely outside of our team, so apart from
that we don't need to change too many things".
