New Orleans, October 23 - A 20-year-old woman is
in critical condition after she was reportedly set on fire
Monday by three men who wrote the initials KKK, an apparent
reference to the white supremacist group, and racial slurs on
her car in northeastern Louisiana.
Sharmeka Moffitt managed to call police after she was
attacked while exercising alone in Civitan Park in Winnsboro,
Louisiana.
In an emergency call to 911, she told police she was set
on fire by men wearing "white hoodies".
Moffitt was found with burns on 60% of her body, police
said.
Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb called the attack a
horrific event" and said authorities would "follow the facts and
seek justice".
The FBI is investigating the attack as a possible hate
crime.
Moffitt is being treated in the LSU Medical Center in
Shreveport, Lousiana.
No arrests have been made.
