L'Aquila province suffers scare with 3.6 quake

Rome, October 30 - The area around the central
Italian city of L'Aquila, which was devastated in 2009 by an
earthquake that killed over 300 people, suffered a big scare
early on Tuesday when a 3.6-magnitude quake struck.
The quake, which had an epicentre near the towns of
Scoppito, Barete and Pizzoli, took place at 2:52 local time.
There were no reports of injuries or major damage.
Two earthquakes in May this year in the northern region of
Emilia-Romagna killed 27 people and destroyed and damaged many
historic buildings and artworks.
