Luxottica set to buy French eyewear firm

Milan, November 2 - Italian eyewear giant Luxottica
on Friday announced a deal aimed at acquiring 100% of French
luxury-spectacles maker Alain Mikli.
"This potential operation perfectly reflects our long-term
growth strategy," said the CEO of the Italian world-leading
company, Andrea Guerra.
Alain Mikli, which in 2011 had turnover of 60 million
euros, will "be the subject of further talks," he said.
Luxottica founder and chairman Leonardo De Vecchio is
Italy's second-richest man after confectionery king Michele
Ferrero with a net worth of $11 billion, making him 71st in the
world rankings as of March 2011, according to Forbes.
