Rugby: Italy eye victory over All Blacks, not dignified loss

Rome, November 14 - Italy do not want to make do
with a dignified defeat against New Zealand on Saturday but are
aiming to make sporting history by notching their first-ever
victory over the reigning world champions.
"We'll take the field to win, not to give a good showing,"
said centre-cum-winger Mirco Bergamasco on Wednesday at an
Adidas event.
"Taking on the best in the world gives you more desire,"
added the 29-year-old, who should be fit to take on the mighty
All Blacks at a packed Stadio Olimpico in Rome after missing
last weekend's 28-23 win over Tonga with a hamstring problem.
"We know how good they are but even they have weaknesses.
There aren't many of them, but they exist. We'll try to impose
our rhythm on the match".
The Azzurri have never beaten the All Blacks in 12
encounters although they caused them trouble the last time the
teams met, a 20-6 win for New Zealand at Milan's San Siro
stadium in 2009.
Italy will end their November test matches on November 24
when they face Australia in Florence.
