Software measures Italian spending against reported income

Rome, November 20 - The Italian tax agency made
software available online Tuesday that allows people to assess
whether their household spending is consistent with their
reported income.
The software, called Redditest, can be downloaded from the
website, and does not leave any trace of
personal data, the tax agency said.
The software allows users to insert data about their
largest spending items over the course of a year in categories
like housing, transport, insurance, contributions, education,
free time, healthcare and so on.
The software compiles the data, assesses it against one's
reported income, and issues a "green light" or a "red light"
depending on whether the software finds them consistent.
The tax agency has also loaded a cartoon-video guide to the
software on Youtube.
