32 arrests as Italian police bust Moroccan-led drugs gang

Bologna, November 21 - Italian police on Wednesday
made 32 arrests in busting a suspected international
drug-trafficking gang made up "mostly" of Moroccans who
allegedly distributed "particularly strong" cannabis in
Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Tuscany.
The cannabis was said to have an active ingredient of 20%,
compared to 6% commonly found in "even high-quality product",
police said, giving it a retail value of 30,000 euros per kg
compared to the standard 10,000.
More than 20 kilogrammes of drugs were seized in an
operation that stemmed from the 2010 arrest of drug mules at
Bologna's Marconi Airport.
