Father who threw baby into Tiber given 30 years in Rome +rpt

Rome, December 4 - A man found guilty of throwing
his 16-month-old boy into the Tiber river in Rome was sentenced
to 30 years in prison on Tuesday.
In February, Patrizio Franceschelli, 26, threw his baby
Claudio from Rome's northern Mazzini bridge after arguing with
the mother.
Franceschelli, who had a police record for drug-related
offences, was later stopped by police, who said he confessed on
the spot.
The body of the baby was discovered by two boys downstream
near the Fiumicino airport a month later.
