Police seek Italian actor in crackdown on drug operation


Trapani, December 17 - A young Italian actor is
being sought by police as part of a crackdown on a drug
operation in southern Italy, authorities said Monday.
The hunt is on for Palermo-born Francesco Casisa, 25, who
made his film debut in the 2002 movie Respiro, starring Valeria
Golino, and also appeared in a 2004 television miniseries about
anti-Mafia prosecutor Paolo Borsellino, slain by Cosa Nostra in
Casisa, who is believed to be in Paris with his
movie-making girlfriend, had previously been convicted of drug
and robbery offences.
The police operation, dubbed Bronx 2, was targeting a ring
of hash and cocaine trafficking in a network of towns around
Trapani on the west coast of Sicily.
