Rome, December 21 - Developers know they are on
the right track when they manage to launch in an economic crisis
without banks or loans and their government partner applauds
their work.
"We feel extremely valued by the government and are proud
of its confidence in our work and master plan," Sahl Dudin,
managing director of Ayla Oasis Development in the Red Sea town
of Aqaba, Jordan tells ANSA.
The Ayla Oasis is one component in the multi-sector
development area ASEZA (Aqaba Special Economic Zone) that is
primed to become a world-class hub for business and leisure.
"We believe that with the right product, crisis or not,
people will come," Dudin says.
Ayla, the ancient name for Aqaba, is over 760,000 square
meters that Dudin's group began developing in 2008.
Its vast range of offerings means that it will easily
attract the young, trendy crowd along with business travellers
and families.
Designed by the same architect group who designed the
Bethlehem Intercontinental, a boutique hotel nestled in the
town's souk near the marina will have about 70 rooms for
visitors who want to be in the thick of things.
"It is for those who want a more intimate setting, near the
water and where the town's activity is concentrated," says
Dudin.
The development also foresees a golf course, bowling alley,
cinemas and lots of shopping opportunities.
"We planned the entire area to complement adjoining areas.
Aqaba is a beautifully coordinated mosaic that offers literally
everything in one of the most stunning settings on earth," Dudin
says.
