Brescia, December 24 - Manchester City striker Mario
Balotelli's younger brother Enoch Baruwah has been released on
parole following his weekend arrest for allegedly assaulting two
Carabinieri in a northern Italian bar.
Baruwah, two years younger than the 22-year-old Italy star,
will stand trial in Brescia on January 3 for the alleged
assault, which took place while the officers were trying to end
a brawl in a bar at the town of Bagnolo.
The younger Balotelli has been ordered not to leave his
place of residence.
At a hearing Monday Baruwah claimed he was attacked by one
of the bar's customers who allegedly tore off his shirt.
He admitted he had had an "unjustified reaction" to the
arrival of the Carabinieri but pleaded for mitigating
circumstances because his sister Abigail, a former Italian Big
Brother contestant who was with him, "felt ill" after he was
attacked.
The younger Balotelli apologised to the Carabinieri and said
he had not meant to hurt them.
Baruwah had a trial at English Premier League side Stoke
City in December 2011 and fellow top-flight club Sunderland in
January 2012 before signing with semi-professional Salford City
on 16 November 2012.
