Venice most expensive New Year's city for tourists


Venice, December 27 – Venice holds the record for
being the most most expensive Italian city for tourists between
Christmas and New Year, with hotel rooms costing an average of
130 euro per double per night, according to a report by tourist
studies institute Ciset.
Even so, the Venice hotel room average price dropped in the
New Years celebration period by 7.1% compared to November.
Hotel room prices in Milan were an average of 120 euro in
the period, a 8.3% from November, while Rome’s were 109 euros,
posting a 4.4% drop, according to the recent research report
drawn up by Cisnet, the International Centre for Tourism
Economics of the Venice-based Ca 'Foscari University.
A double hotel room in Florence cost an average of 105
euros in the period, a 2.8% from November, whilst Verona’s were
100 euros, posting a dramatic 10% by comparison.
In terms of ski locations, the most expensive town was
identified as Madonna di Campiglio, which on average offered
hotel rooms for about 194 euros a night, followed closely by
Cortina d'Ampezzo’s 191 euro average.
