Beirut, January 7 - Four Italian journalists
travelling with United Nations peacekeepers from Italy were
grabbed and held for an hour, sources said Monday.
The journalists' mobile phones and cameras were seized in
the incident, which occurred in the village of Aita al-Shaab,
about five kilometers from the border with Israel.
The area is predominantly populated by supporters of
Hezbollah, the pro-Iranian Shiite movement.
The group included Mario Rebeschini and Rossella
Santosuosso, employees of Il Resto del Carlino, a Bologna-based
daily newspaper, and their colleagues Elisa Murgese and
Gianfranco Salvatori, according to the daily.
The four were travelling in two vehicles with the United
Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) when they were
detained.
They were later freed after Lebanese army forces
intervened, but their mobiles and cameras were not returned.
The incident is under investigation.
