Bersani to lower taxes 'if possible'


Rome, January 18 - Democratic Party (Pd) leader and
centre-left candidate for premier Pier Luigi Bersani on Friday
said that a future centre-left government would lower taxes if
the situation allowed.
''If there are the margins to do it I think it is necessary
to reduce fiscal pressure, starting with work, pensions,
personal income tax, the lowest income levels, and boost
investment,'' Bersani said in an interview with Radio 24 of
Italy's leading business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.
