Corona jailbird figurine for sale in Naples

Naples, January 24 - Fabrizio Corona, the top
Italian paparazzo arrested in Portugal after fleeing from Italy
earlier this week, has already been turned into a ceramic
figurine for sale in the nativity-scene shops of Naples' famous
via San Gregorio Armeno street.
Master craftsman Genny Di Virgilio has already made a
miniature Corona wearing the typical prisoner's striped uniform
with a ball and chain at his ankle.
On Monday the Turin prosecutor's office issued a European
Arrest Warrant for Corona, who was convicted of blackmailing
VIPs with compromising photographs.
Corona disappeared last Friday just hours before Italy's
highest appeals court, the Court of Cassation, handed down its
confirmation of a five-year prison sentence.
The notorious personality, who made headlines in Italy for
his colorful exploits and super-model girlfriends, had been on
probation in Milan for a prior conviction.
Corona's probation has been suspended, and his flight from
the law means an additional two years and 10 months time will be
added to his prison sentence.
In total, Corona will have to serve over seven years, a
detail Di Virgilio did not miss on the miniature Corona figure:
along with his prison attire, he holds in his hand a sign
reading "7 years".
