Milan, February 14 - AC Milan coach Massimilano
Allegri said Thursday that temperamental Italy forward Mario
Balotelli knows he must manage his personal life better.
Balotelli moved to Milan for a transfer fee of over 20
million euros last month, after two and a half years with
Manchester City in which he hit the headlines for disciplinary
issues and some bizarre off-field incidents and much as for his
goals.
He has made an instant impact at Milan scoring three goals
in his first two games with the Serie A giants.
But he was also in the news last week when he was fined for
not having his insurance documents after arguing with traffic
police at Milan's Linate airport.
"Balotelli is a normal guy like all the other players,"
Allegri told a press conference ahead of Milan's home game
against Parma on Friday.
"Maybe coming here to Milan, he's understood that he has to
manage certain things better, as he's at the centre of
attention. He's training well and he's treated like all the
others.
"Balotelli has to get a bit smarter with the management of
his personal life and that's what I advised him to do.
"I'm happy he's here both from a playing point of view and
also at the personal level, judging from what I've seen over the
last 10 days.
"He has all the right qualities and he wants to show that
he can become a world class player. He can do that here".
Balotelli infuriated Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini
with a moderate smoking habit and the player has reportedly
continued to puff on cigarettes since joining Milan.
