Italian industrial orders dropped 9.8% in 2012

Rome, February 20 - Industrial orders in
recession-hit Italy fell 9.8% last year with respect to 2011 and
revenues were 4.3% down, Istat said on Wednesday.
The national statistics agency said the revenue drop was
caused by a 7.6% decrease in domestic sales, which in part was
offset by a 2.6% increase in industrial exports.
Istat added that industrial orders dropped 15.3% in
December with respect to the same month in 2011, the biggest
year-on-year fall since October 2009, and 1.8% with respect to
November 2012.
Industrial revenue was 9.2% lower in December than in the
same month in 2011 and 0.8% down on November.
