Eligible voters 55.17% so far compared to 62.55% in 2008


Rome, February 25 - Some 55.17% of eligible voters
turned out for the first day of voting in Italy's parliamentary
elections compared to 62.55% in 2008, national election
observers said on Monday.
Polls for national and regional voting close on Monday,
Italian's second day to cast their ballots, at 3pm.
Leading candidates from all parties with the exception of
Beppe Grillo, chief of the populist and anti-establishment Five
Star Movement (M5S), cast their votes on Sunday.
