Grillo MPs to make assessments 'reform by reform'

Genoa, February 26 - Genoa comic and leader of the
anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S) said on Tuesday his
party would assess legislative proposals on their individual
merits and in accordance with its campaign manifesto after
taking around 25% of the vote in recent general elections.
"We are not out to fight the world," the gadfly comedian
told journalists outside his home in the Ligurian capital.
"We will decide reform by reform, law by law. If there are
proposals that come under our manifesto we will consider them".
M5S became the single largest party in Italy in Sunday and
Monday polls and helped prevent Pier Luigi Bersani's centre-left
coalition - seen as the forerunner in pre-election polls - from
securing a working majority in the parliament.
Grillo and ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi, leader of a
centre-right alliance, between them polled over half the popular
vote, sparking panic on the money markets and in the European
political establishment.
