Knox 'disappointed but not dejected' as acquittal overturned

Rome, March 26 - Amanda Knox was disappointed but
not dejected after her acquittal for the 2007 murder of Meredith
Kercher was overturned by Italy's supreme Court of Cassation on
Tuesday, according to her lawyer Carlo Dalla Vedova.
The decision means that Knox's and and her ex-boyfriend
Raffaele Sollecito's appeals trial will be held again, this time
in Florence.
In 2011 Perugia's appeals court squashed the 26-year and
25-year sentences American Knox and Italian Sollecito were
handed respectively at the original trial in 2009.
"Last night she was already worried and waiting anxiously,"
Dalla Vedova said of the Cassation's decision, which had been
expected to be announced late on Monday but was postponed until
"She had a sleepless night. Today she's disappointed but
not dejected, as always, because that's her character.
"She is aware of her innocence".
Dalla Vedova said he would wait for the Cassation to
publish the reasons for its decision before commenting on it.
