Crimi hints M5S may support non-PD government

Rome, March 27 - The Senate whip of the 5-Star
Movement hinted Wednesday that if the Italian president named
someone outside the center-left Democratic Party (PD) to govern
the country the anti-establishment party might support it.
"If (President Giorgio) Napolitano names someone else, it
would be an entirely different matter," said Vito Crimi.
His party, led by gadfly comedian Beppe Grillo, has been
obstructing attempts at forming a coalition by PD leader Pier
Luigi Bersani, whom the president handed a government-formation
mandate last week after his party gained the most votes in
February elections though not enough to have an outright
majority in parliament.
