Italian families spend less for Easter 2013 feast


Rome, March 29 - Italian families are continuing
the overall lower-spending trend this Easter, consumer group
Fiesa (part of Conferescenti) said on Friday.
Following in step with the general decline in household
spending, food sales for the Easter 2013 weekend are down 10%.
Spending on the traditional colomba Easter cake, called so
because it of its dove shape, has dropped 7%, Fiesa said.
There will also be less 5% meat on tables, specifically
10% less lamb.
Even wine will flow a little slower, with Italian families
consuming an estimated 3% less.
