Femen protest in Milan for topless Tunisian activist


Milan, April 4 - Topless activists protesting the
treatment of Muslim women rallied in Milan Thursday, marching
outside the Tunisian consulate.
The Femen movement took what they call a "topless jihad" to
Italy's industrial capital, where they marched in support of
Amina Tyler.
She is a a young Tunisian woman who sparked the anger of
conservative Muslims, who said she should be stoned as
punishment for posting her own topless photo on Facebook.
Tyler, who said she posted the photos to protest Islam's
treatment of women, is said to have disappeared.
The three women protesting in Milan carried signs that read
"Free Amina" and "Bare Breast Against Islam" in support of
The trio were removed about 20 minutes after they began
their protest.
The Femen organization's website has launched what it calls
a "holy war" in support of the rights of Muslim women.
