Fresh elections would give similar result, opinion poll

Rome, April 5 - Italians would give the three main
political formations around 25% each if they were to return to
the ballot box now, confirming the current political deadlock
resulting from recent general elections, an opinion poll said
The centre-left Democratic Party (PD) led by Pier Luigi
Bersani would poll 25.5%, followed closely by the
anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) of comedian Beppe
Grillo at 25.4% and the centre-right People of Freedom (PdL)
party of ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi at 25%, according to
Trieste-based pollster SWG.
The centrist and reformist Civic Choice platform of
incumbent technocrat Premier Mario Monti showed a 0.3% rise in
popularity, coming in at 7.1%, while the regionalist Northern
League - a PdL ally - dropped 0.2% to stand at 4.1%.
