Train derails near Perugia, four-five people injured

Citta di Castello (Perugia), April 8 - Four or five
people have been taken to hospital with injuries after a train
coach derailed and fell in its side near the central Italian
city of Perugia on Monday.
The injured people were reportedly not in a serious
Umbrian Regional Transport Councillor Silvano Rometti said
the accident had been caused by debris being on the track after
heavy rainfall caused part of a wall near the exit of a tunnel
to collapse.
Around 20 people also received medical treatment at the
scene, reportedly with very minor problems.
"It was an event that was absolutely impossible to predict
and the exceptional rain that has hit Umbria and the whole of
Italy in recent days contributed," said Rometti.
"Fortunately, there were only minor injuries. The regional
government will continue to monitor the situation over the next
few hours and follow the work to remove the train.
"Substitute transport services have already be launched".
