Europe markets rise on better-than-expected U.S jobless data


Milan, April 11 - Markets fell across Europe on
Thursday, paced by Milan’s FTSE MIB index, amid
better-than-expected US unemployment claims data.
Italy's Ftse Mib index rose 0.6% to 16,020 points.
The yield spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the
German benchmark equivalent, a barometer of Italy's borrowing
costs in the eurozone crisis, closed at 303 points with 10-year
yields at 4.3%.
Jobless claims in the US dropped 42,000 to 346,000 in the
week that ended on April 6, from 388,000 the previous week,
according to Labor Department data released on Thursday.
The Frankfurt Dax bourse gained 0.8% to 7,871 points, while
the Paris Cac 40 Index advanced 0.9 % to 3,775 points.
Madrid's Ibex index closed up 0.3 % to 8,159 points.
London's Ftse-100 stock market increased 0.5% 6,416 points.
