Italy ranks lowest in EU for university degree completion


Brussels, April 11 - Italy has the lowest average
of university students who complete their studies in the
European Union, with just 21.7% of those who began a degree
program finishing in 2012, a Eurostat survey said on Thursday.
In 2012 the average age for graduating university was 34
years old, 26.3% of graduates were women and 17.2% were men.
The figures were a slight improvement over 2010 and 2011,
but continue to be the worst in the EU, where the overall
average for completing university is 35.8%.
