Bookies put Gabanelli second for Italian president

Rome, April 16 - TV presenter and investigative
reporter Milena Gabanelli was second only to former centre-left
premier Giuliano Amato on Italian bookies' slates to become the
next president of the republic after becoming the candidate of
the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) on Tuesday.

They were followed by Franco Marini, former leader of the

Prodi, from the center left, came in at 2.50, neck-and-neck
with former EU commissioner Emma Bonino of the Radical Party.
War-zone doctor Gino Strada, founder of the NGO Emergency
who came second to Gabanelli in the M5S online poll, was quoted
at 3.0.
