Naples police confident of security for America's Cup races

Naples, April 16 - Following the terror attacks
Monday at the Boston Marathon, Naples police said they see no
need to beef up security coverage for the America's Cup World
Series regattas, being held in the southern Italian city from
Tuesday to Sunday.
Some 450 men in uniform are guaranteeing 24-hour security
coverage to the event, police sources tell Ansa.
On top of the security detail, experts in disarming
explosives and other specially trained units will be deployed.
"After the news of the Boston terrorist attacks, there has
been no increase in men because the force deployment is
proportionate to the dimensions and the importance of the
event," sources at the Naples police said.
The Naples regattas come after two rounds of races held
last August and October in San Francisco.
The third and final round, being held in Naples, marks the
finale of the America's Cup World Series ahead of this fall's
America's Cup in San Francisco.
