Each ballot for president could take four to five hours

Rome, April 17 - As preparations are finalized for
the election of Italy's next president, which begins Thursday,
the Speaker of the House warned that each ballot will take four
to five hours to complete.
Laura Boldrini said Wednesday that everything is ready for
voting but warned that the process won't be quick.
The election will replace outgoing President Giorgio
Napolitano, whose seven-year term comes to an end in May.
Parliament, as well as 58 "grand electors" appointed by the
regions, will vote for Napolitano's successor.
