Rate on 20-month Italian bonds reaches record low


Rome, April 24 - The rate on 20-month Italian CTZ
bonds reached a record low at auction on Wednesday, going for an
average interest rate of 1.167% in another sign pressure is
easing on Italy's borrowing costs amid hopes a new government
will be formed soon.
The Treasury sold 2.5 billion euros' worth of the CTZs,
which mature in December 2014, at a rate that was 0.580% lower
than at the last equivalent sale.
The Treasury also sold 750 million euros' worth of
index-linked BTP bonds set to mature in September 2023 at an
average interest rate of 2.65%.
