M5S member risks expulsion for breaking TV appearance ban

Rome, April 30 - Beppe Grillo said on Tuesday that
he was moving ahead with internal proceedings to expel member
Marino Mastrangeli from his anti-establishment 5-Star Movement
(M5S) for breaking its ban on TV appearances.
"All parliamentarians from the M5S signed the code of
conduct before the was required of all
candidates," Grillo wrote on his blog.
"For anyone who violates the rules, expulsion procedures
can be started," Grillo wrote.
The rabble-rousing leader wrote that Mastrangeli had
broken "the rules numerous times", appearing on televised news
programs without authorization.
Genoa comic Grillo who recently emerged as a political
tub-thumper uses the Internet and public rallies to spread his
message and never gives interviews to Italian journalists.
Online voting to decide Mastrangeli's fate will take place
Tuesday until 5pm, open for M5S members who signed up before
December 31, 2012.
M5S rode a huge protest vote to come third in February's
general election.
