John Paul II relics to go on show in Rio

Rio de Janeiro, May 2 - The remains of John Paul II
will be put on show during the Brazilian World Youth Day to be
held in Rio de Janeiro from July 23 to July 28, according to the
event organizer on Thursday.
A flask containing the late pontiff's blood and other
relics are to be transported to Brazil on July 7, and will
remain in the South American nation until October 13, where they
will be held in exhibition at the city cathedral, Father Arnaldo
Rodriguez said.
The relics of John Paul, who envisioned the World Youth Day
events, will be put on show together with those of Pier Giorgio
Frassati, an Italian Catholic social activist, who was a member
of the Third Order of St. Dominic.
The organizers are currently waiting for permission to also
exhibit the remains of Saint Teresa di Lisieux, Chiara Luce
Badano, and Federico Ozanam and of the Brazilian Saint Antonio
de Santana.
Like John Paul, they are all expected to achieve sainthood.
