Driver for TAV construction company injured by stone attack


Turin, May 8 - A driver was injured by a group of
hooded attackers late Tuesday evening as he was leaving a work
site for the controversial high-speed TAV rail line near the
Piedmont city of Turin.
Police said that the group began pummelling the man's
truck as he was leaving the Maddalena construction site where he
works as a driver for Martina Service.

denouncing its high cost and claiming it will cause
environmental damage.
The driver, who suffered light injuries to his hand, was
released from the hospital shortly after being treated.
"This is a vile act of intimidation, using violence to
instill a climate of terror," a company spokesman said.
