Europe markets mixed, Frankfurt gains as Paris declines


Milan, May 9 - Markets were mixed across Europe on
Thursday, as Milan's FTSE MIB index drew close to declining
under a 17,000 point threshold after Italian oil company Eni
sold an 11.7% stake in natural-gas network Snam.
Italy's Ftse Mib index dropped 1% to 17,090 points. Snam
slumped 5.1% after Eni sold an 11.7% holding in the company for
1.5 billion euros.
The yield spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the
German benchmark equivalent, a barometer of Italy's borrowing
costs in the eurozone crisis, closed at 261 points with 10-year
yields at 3.9%.
The Frankfurt Dax bourse advanced 0.2% to 8,262 points,
while the Paris Cac 40 Index slumped 0.7% to 3,928 points.
Madrid's Ibex index declined 0.3 % to 8,572 points. London's
Ftse-100 stock market increased 0.1% to 6,592 points.
