Man on St. Peter's dome has climbed church before

Rome, May 20 - A man who climbed St Peter's dome
on Monday has been identified as a Trieste bar owner who has
climbed the church on two other occasions.
Marcello Di Finizio remains clinging to the 138-meter-high
dome as Vatican guards and police continue to watch the him.
Di Finizio shouted that his dangerous demonstration is to
express his anger over an EU permit directive to run seaside
establishments, which could mean his bars end up for auction.
The 47-year-old entrepreneur risked his life to climb down
to a ledge over a window on the dome to hang a banner reading:
"Stop the massacre, no to the Euro".
Di Finzio staged similar demonstrations July 30 and
October 2, 2012, to protest ex-premier Mario Monti's government
and austerity cuts, among other things.
