Assocamerestero votes in new leadership


Rome, May 21 - The general assembly of
Assocamerestero, the association of Italian chambers of commerce
abroad, on Monday elected Leonardo Simonelli as its new
president and Gian Domenico Auricchio as its new vice president.
Leonardo Simonelli, who was born in 1939 and has Tuscan
roots, is currently president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce
for the United Kingdom.
He has a background in finance, having worked in the
industry both in Italy, including as president of Finest, and
abroad, where he worked in investment funds.
In 2009 he was elected vice president of Assocamerestero.
Gian Domenico Auricchio, 56, is a food-business
He is president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, vice
president of the Italian union of chambers of commerce,
Unioncamere, and has served as president of Italian food sector
association Federalimentare.
Auricchio is a member of the board and of the executive of
industrial employers' confederation Confindustria.
He was picked by the leadership of Unioncamere to represent
Italy's chambers of commerce inside the association.
