Cycling: Di Luca 'surprised' by positive test

Dimaro, May 24 - Danilo Di Luca said Friday he was
surprised after international cycling's governing body UCI said
he had tested positive in a doping examination last month before
the start of the Giro d'Italia.
"I didn't expect it. It was a surprise for me. I'm
disappointed," said Di Luca, who has been suspended from
competition by the UCI and fired by his Vini Fantini-Selle
Italia team.
The 2007 Giro winner, who now risks a life ban after
previously being suspended for two years for doping in 2009,
said he would ask the B samples from the test to be checked.
"After the B tests we will talk about this affair again,"
he said.
Vini Fantini-Selle Italia said that, in addition to
dismissing the 37-year-old, they will also seek damages from
