Napolitano says Letta's 18 months for reforms appropriate

Rome, June 2 - Significant reforms planned by the
new Italian government can be completed within its 18-month
timetable, President Giorgio Napolitano said Monday.
Eighteen months is an appropriate length of time because
that "is what it takes for a complex process," said Napolitano
after talks at the presidential palace with Premier Enrico
Letta, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Angelino Alfano,
Constitutional Reforms Minister Gaetano Quagliariello and
Minister for Relations with Parliament and Policy Co-Ordinator
Dario Franceschini.
Last week Letta hailed a new era of reforms in Italy which
he said would take 18 months to implement.
